How I Get Ready for a Night Out..

It's my friends Birthday tomorrow nigh and I plan on spending the evening preening and pampering myself so I look like a Bebo Stunnah, tomorrow night! I'm always curious to see what other people to do prepare for a big night out, so I thought I'd share what I'm going to be doing tonight to get myself ready for a night on the town!

Night Before
If you're like me and like to plan things well in advance you'll be able to relate to this post. I love being all Dolled up and like to take my time doing so. It always starts with me lighting some candles and choosing a Spotify playlist to listen too (I like the Afternoon Acoustic playlist) and I really unwind and chill. I also probably stick on a chick flick too and maybe a sneaky hot chocolate!
Soap & Glory Scrub
Unfortunately my holiday tan is a thing of the past and I'm absolutely devastated, as girls we all know life can sometimes be better with a tan. I want to prep my skin for applying tan so a scrub is the best way to start. This one from Soap&Glory does the job. I prefer Cocoa Brown "Tough Stuff" but I ran out and had this in my beauty stash so I've decided to give it a go. It's good, not as good as Tough Stuff, but still pretty decent and my skin was feeling nice and soft. I also de-fuzz and shave my legs to make sure they're tan ready!
Sanex Moisturising Bath Cream/Dove Purely Pampering
I picked this up while shopping at the weekend as it was on sale and since I hate paying €3 for Radox when it's always on sale somewhere for €1.50 I went with this Sanex one. Sanex is a brand I've used and they've quite a good deodorant but I hadn't tried their bath products and I'm impressed. My skin always feels really soft after it and the dry patches are becoming a thing of the past. It also produces a lot of bubbles which the inner child in me loves all with being kind to your skin. I paired it again with the offer of the week the Dove Purely Pampering shower cream, which smells lovely!
The Body Shop "Wild Argan Oil"*
The night before I apply some oil to be hair, tie it up in a bun, apply a shower cap and go to sleep. I've been using this solid oil from the Body Shop for quite some time now and it's pretty good! If you want to see my Review check it out (HERE) In the morning your hair looks like you could fry a million eggs on it but that's a good sign! I hop into the shower and wash, rinse and repeat a number of times to make sure all the product has been washed out of my hair and all I'm left with is soft luscious locks that looks healthy and shiny!
 Waxperts Body Oil*
Oh Ma Gawd. Ladies you need this in your life. It's not just for after waxing. I apply it when I'm fresh out of the bath and spritz it all over and then sink into bed with the lovely aroma of lavender. It's honestly such a fantastic product, and I'd so quick to recommend it to everyone and anyone. If you have trouble sleeping at all this will send you straight off! My skin was so soft the next day, ready for my fake tan application!

La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Mask*
My skin is acting up as of late and is incredible dry. Whenever I get dry skin spells I reach for La Roche-Posay. I apply this Intense Mask onto my face, leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then take it off with a warm face cloth and my skin is back to normal! If you're look for something a bit cheaper I use Rescue Oil (The Dealz/Poundland Bio Oil alternative) and apply it all over my face and then go to sleep. Your face looks incredibly oily but you wake up and your skin is soft and subtle and all you need to do is cleanse and your skin is so soft!
Love it or loathe it (I loathe it, I'm too impatient) it's a must for a night out. I always choose to go for an eye popping colour for nights out to be  slightly more daring. I always apply a layer of Essence top coat and the polish lasts at least 3 days which suits me. I'm always typing on a computer at a lightening speed so I'm always used to a few chips here and there so 3 days for me if it's not Shellac or Acrylic is good for me! Don't forget your tootsies as there's nothing worse than chipped toe nail polish!
Morning of:
Normally I'm up early enough and try and go for an intense walk or job to get myself awake (With a hair full of oil!) For me my life is all about balance now and I feel better if I do some exercise so I don't subconscious feel guilty about over indulging later. That way I can enjoy my night and enjoy the 4am pizza too! Before I go out I'll make myself some Slimming World Pizza (One of my all time favourite meals!) I use a Gluten Free B-Free wrap so I'm full but I'm not bloated or feeling uncomfortable. My drink of choice if you're wondering is Vodka&Diet 7-Up ;)
Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Dark Tan*
Ladies I've harped on about Cocoa Brown for years all over my social media. As a girl who loves a tan, but doesn't love tan looking fake this tan is a winner. I prefer the 1 Hour Dark pictured here for nights out and the normal 1 Hour for day events. The 1 Hour gives you a nice sun-kissed glow where as the 1 Hour dark gives you a Caribbean enviable tan in less than an hour! It's easy to apply, doesn't smell and is less than €8 a bottle. A huge thumbs up from me! I apply this mainly in the morning and quickly wash it off while I'm washing out my hair!
Cocoa Brown Chocolate Whip*
To compliment the tan after I've showered and washed my hair I apply the Cocoa Brown Chocolate Whip. It's a non oil based moisturiser so my tan won't go patchy, but my skin will remain soft. It's also fantastic as prolonging the tan and making sure it fades evenly. We've all been there when your fake tans fades and you look like you're a scaly lizard! It also smells lovely too, but not overpowering, so you can apply your signature perfume. Review (HERE)
Organise my Clutch
As much as I try to be organised, when it comes to organising my bag it's like a minefield. I normally bring everything but the kitchen sink with me, but since travelling I've come to my senses a little bit more. All I pack in my clutch is my phone, debit card (and cash), lipstick, hair clips, a hairbrush, some powder and a small bottle of perfume so I can continue to smell nice during the night! I also put an emergency €20 in a pocket somewhere so I don't spend my taxi money on Jagerbombs!
Chose My Outfit:
Okay so I should do this the night before but I'm fickle and I change my mind a crazy amount of times. For me it's also very weather dependant. If it's lashing rain I'll be a lot more likely to opt for skinny jeans and a sexy top over a short sleeveless dress. Ireland is so unpredictable, one minute it's lashing rain and cold and then next you'd swear you were in Spain! Once the outfit is chosen and is weather appropriate it's now time to accessorize. For me it's always a statement necklace, It's become quite my signature!

And then all that's left to do is relax and take my time applying my make up and styling my hair!

Happy Saturday Lovelies!

What I Wore | Yours Clothing Lilac Rose Skater Dress

I had a few meetings this week that I wanted to dress up for and the only dress I had in mind was this one from Yours Clothing. The Lilac and Black Rose Print Skater Dress* is beautiful. It's not a colour I'd normally choose but when I got the option I knew I should give it a whirl. When I first tried it on I wasn't sure as the pleating is up quite high and I didn't feel it was at all flattering on my body. I did however try it with a belt and loved the look and decided that it was a winner. The belt cinches me in and emphasises my waist and the fuller skirt flows out over my hips. I've always loved skater dresses. They're so versatile. I wore this dress in a business setting, but had on a pair of heels and you're all set for a night out!
For accessories I added a gold chain belt that I picked up late last year in Penney's as well as a necklace I bought the last time I was in Paris. I love the gold with the Lilac I think it definitely warms it up. To compliment the black trim I added black pumps and a black bag. I'm not normally one to go match-matchy with handbags and shoes but it worked well. Yours Clothing has a gazillion skater dresses if this one isn't for you, and being honest they're not a bad price for the quality. I went for a size 14 and it fits really well. It's got enough stretch that the material under your arms is comfortable as well. I find sometimes sleeveless dresses can be a bit irritating under the arms if they don't have the right amount of stretch!
Over all it's another positive review for Yours Clothing. I've been working with them for years and I have yet to be disappointed with their quality and their collection is only going from strength to strength. They've tons of really fashion forward clothing most going up to a size 32 which is a great achievement and more plus size companies should follow suit! They also have a new website which seems easier to navigate. It was a bit slow at first but they seemed to have fixed it and is running nice and fast, which is great for impatient folk like myself! I also rocked my Ray-Bans that I picked in Thailand, I'm totally in the market for another pair. I've two real pairs that I love to death, so I think I'm going to have to add the Club-masters to my collection - They're an investment right?

Primark/ Penney's Haul

So with being broke as a joke, my lovely mom took pity on my lack of clothes and took me shopping on Saturday for a few bits and bobs. I've always included some other items in this haul too, so you can see what I'm wearing this month. I'm doing an internship at the moment and I want to look smart, but still fashionable as well as being comfortable. There's nothing worse than looking good, but not feeling comfortable in what you're wearing. I used to be such a fan of dresses, but ever since I got my greedy mitts on these Yours Clothing  trousers I was converted. I'll be doing a post later on in the week wearing them so keep your eyes peeled!
So first things first, Penney's is a minefield and I would never suggest going on a Saturday afternoon, but alas it was the only time we both were free, so we battled the crowds. In Dublin the flagship store is Mary Street, just located at the end of Henry Street and is in my opinion one of the best. The second being Blanchardstown. They always have loads in stock and generally a good selection of sizes. We made a beeline for the work wear, which jolted me into the realisation that I am now in
fact a grown up.
These pants are amazing. Hands down one of my better buys from Penney's. They're stretchy so really comfy are an ankle grazer length and have a side zip for ultimate comfort. They've been selling like hot cakes in Penney's so I picked up a size 14 in the blue, but the only size they had left in the black was either a 20 or a 12. Being slightly optimistic I went for the 12 and while they're a little bit snug the are totally wearable! They each cost €12 so definitely a great bargain. I'll be dressing these up for work as well as dressing them more casually during the weekends.
The gorgeous Ivory Floral Dip Back Top* on the left is from Yours Clothing. It's so lovely. It's a little bit sheer, but not immodestly so. It's longer at the back than the front and is lovely and loose. I'd totally rock it wit super high waisted jeans and a chunky necklace, paired with heels for drinks or a meal. The top on the left is from Penney's and I actually bought for the trousers I'm just about to show you. It's a gorgeous bright coral colour. I sized up to a size 18 for this as I like these tops quite loose and flowy. It's a perfect summer work look paired with a nice chain.
Both of these are from Penney's. I'm big into printed trousers at the moment and these gorgeous pink pair were only €10. I had serious trouble with sizing however. As they have no stretch I went for the size 16 and both 3 different prints in the exact same trouser. All of them were different sizes. 2 were too big and these just about fit, so I think these are sizes slightly wrong. Not quite a 14 nor a 16. It's annoying but they fit better than the 16 as the leg is tighter, which I wanted. I also picked up these gorgeous ripped jeans at €19 they're a on the pricier side for Penney's but they're cool and perfect for a casual weekend look.
While in Penney's I wanted tops to mix and match to go wit my trousers. I love this lace black top. It's dressy without being too much and if we get the warmer weather I won't have to worry about being too warm in work, while still looking professional and put together. At €10 it's a great price and it comes in both cream and red too. I'm totally thinking of going back to get them! It's got a slight swing so it glides over curves beautifully. This navy top is perfect paired over the blue pants. It's slightly lower at the back and has a flattering V-neck, perfect if you're like me and a bit more busty! At €11 again you can't go too wrong!
Penney's is such a fantastic shop especially if you're in the process of loosing weight and you obviously don't want to spend a small fortune on clothes. Although I will say to ignore the size on the tag and try it all on as the sizes can be all over the gaff in Penney's! Never get too attached to a size at the end of the day it's only a label and doesn't define you. I find a lot of time being get hung up on the size instead of focusing on the fit - which is ultimately a lot more important. Sure you can squeeze yourself into something instead of trying on a size up and having them fit better which ironically makes you appear slimmer If that's the look you're looking for!)
I picked up this Kaftan style top last week for €13 and managed to bag the last size 14 which I was delighted about as it's such a gorgeous top and incredibly flattering on! It's going to be perfect for Summer paired with jeans and a nice pair of sandals. Stick on a floral crown and you're festival ready! I also picked up this lovely black lace top. I sized up, but I'm thinking of exchanging it for a smaller size. In my head I still reach for the bigger sizes, not really thinking but they're too big for me now! Nonetheless it's a gorgeous top and I can't wait to wear it with jeans or shorts when it gets warmer(fingers crossed!)
This Lilac Rose Print Dress* is from Yours Clothing and I love it. I got it in a size 14 and it fits well. The pleats are quite high however and I feel more comfortable wearing a belt with it to emphasis my waist. It's so pretty and you can dress it up for a night out or even dress it down to make it more work appropriate. In Penney's this dress caught my eye. It's a very "asia" print and reminded me of my travels at €14 it's cheap enough and will look cute with sandals on holidays (when I'll be off again, I don't know!) I also love the cute pom poms on the hems and under the bust!
New Look had a Promotion on and I picked up these dresses! You can check my Facebook Page to see a little preview of them on. I loved them both equally. The blue dress had €10 off and the striped dress had €5 making them both come in under €40. My lovely Mum treated me to both after offering to buy them myself and of course I was thrilled. I picked them both up in a size 16 and although the striped dress is a little big it's still lovely and flattering! The Navy dress is definitely my favourite out of the two and I plan to wear it to a few occasions this month!
Penney's are amazing for flats. I go through flat shoes like there's no tomorrow. I do plan on investing in a good pair of flats, once I recover financially from the trip (in a million years!) but for now I'm happy to rely on good 'ol Penneys! I picked up a pair of black and navy flats. The black ones were €8 and the navy suede were on sale for €5. I try to pick up a few pairs when I go to Penney's as I wear them down pretty quickly! They're cheap as chips so you can't really complain!

I saw these glittery sandals in Penney's last week and I had to have them. They're absolutely gorgeous and are a dressy alternative for heels during the Summer months. The ankle strap is surprisingly flattering and all in all they're the perfect dressy sandal! In New Look I saw these babies and basically threw them to my cousin so she could run and get me the student discount as I loved them so much! They've a small 3inch heel and are perfect for work or even a night out if you're like me and prefer to dance the night away instead of being crippled in your shoes!

Well that's all I have for the moment! When I'm back working full time I'm sure I'l have so many hauls for you! Let me know if you like these type of posts and I'll do more for you!
