Fuertaventura - Corellejo

I'm a huge lover of travel. The only think stopping me travelling right now, is lack of funds. In 2014, I'm going to try and travel as much as I can! It's hard to take time off for travel etc, but I'm going to try especially hard! Travel is something I inherited from my parents, and I love travelling to different places, and to experiencing, new people, new cultures and new food. I'd really love to travel for a year, and see as much as the world as possible, but I don't know when I'll ever be able to afford it! My Savings, need to be a bit more healthy, before I even consider it, if I'm entirely honest.

Correlego is lovely little resort, and I had a such a relaxing time, but I'm ready to tackle the new year, once and for all! My head is clear, my eye is set on a prize and I'm ready to go get it :) I'll be back tomorrow with regular posting, on both beauty and fashion. It's funny I had originally missed doing my fashion posts, but now that It's all I've been doing for the past week, I miss my beauty posts! Going forward there will be a good mix of the two! As that's what I'm happiest doing! I'm also going to incorporate more lifestyle posts, as much as I can! I was in a bit of a slump towards last year what the blog, but I'm a lot more motivated - New Year, New improved Blog?

What I Wore| Evans Sheer Top

This is my final Holiday outfit! It was more of a casual one, as the last night it was quite windy, and I didn't want to be too cold. These Khaki jeggings are so unbelievably comfortable. I picked them up in Dunnes Stores last year for €20 and I've gotten a lot of wear out of them. I got them in the shorter length as I like the ankle-grazer length, and at 5'6 they're still pretty long, so I'm glad I did! They've a little bit of stretch in them, and they fit me perfectly. When the weather gets warmer in Ireland, I'm going to go back and see if they have anything similar
This outfit is probably my most casual, laid back outfit of the holiday and I really like it. Back in September I won a €100 voucher for Evans in Plus North! I'm normally never that lucky, but I was over the moon. I saw this top and fell in love! I got it a couple of sizes bigger as I wanted to wear it with skinny trousers or leggings and I'm delighted I did! It's so free flowing and perfect for a dressy/casual look! I love how the white really shows up my tan, and the fact it has a little cap sleeve! I don't mind showing my arms at all, but sometimes you want that little bit of extra coverage. I was going to wear a necklace with this, but I tried on a number of them, and they weren't great with it. I think I need a long statement pendant necklace to compliment the top. I love the sheer overlay, it adds a lovely top, to an ordinary white top
For accessories I wore my multicoloured sandals and my beige Fran&Jane clutch bag. Very simple, and very relaxed. I wore a little bit of makeup on my last night, I used my Collection2000 concealer and "They're Real" Mascara and just filled in my brows. It was so refreshing to now wear much makeup over the course of my holiday, and my skin is actually feeling the benefits! It's a lot softer now the sunburn has gone, and I've little to no blemishes! I think the Vitamin D did my skin a lot of good! I have one more post coming tomorrow as a little round up of my trip, and then it's back to normal, I'm afraid! I'm a bit gutted being back, but sure what can ya do! :)

What I Wore| Monsoon Fusion Kaftan

This is probably my favourite Kaftan, ever!I picked it up in Monsoon three years ago for a ridiculous price (Monsoon in general are extortionate!) It's part of their "Fusion" range and cost me €99. A lot for a loose fitting kaftan! The only reason, I took the plunge was the colours and pattern are just gorgeous. Here I am three years later, and it's in great condition and I know I'll be taking it out in the Summer, for years to come. So it was probably worth the money, if you think about it that way..
Fuertaventura is a really windy Island, no matter what time of year, there's always a gust of wind, and yesterday was no different. Taking a quick outfit picture is a lot more difficult when the wind is blowing up your dress, and making your hair go crazy, but nonetheless I got it taken. I'm a bit gutted that I'm heading home today. It was a lovely relaxing week, and it just went by too quick. It's nice to get a little break away in January when everything is doom and gloom and bills, after bills! To make this a dress, I added a short white bodycon dress to cover my dignity! It's the perfect way to wear a see-through Kaftan as a dress. This Kaftan is extremely versatile, and can be worn numerous ways! You can wear it with Jeans and wedges for a night time look, with a tank top like here for a day time look, or just chuck it over your bikini for going to the Beach/Pool.

I'm glad to say I've got a bit of a tan, and won't be coming home to Ireland like Casper the Ghost! The only shame now is that these legs will under tights for the next couple of months, before Summer comes around again! Another thing I love about Kaftan's in general, is that there's absolutely no creasing. You can shove it into your suitcase without any bother and you don't need to iron it or steam it. I love fuss free clothes on holidays. It's also really light, so it won't take up any room in your case, and you won't have to worry about the weight of your suitcase etc. I paired it with my River Island multi-coloured sandals to add more colour to this already colourful dress! These Sandals are so comfortable and I can't believe I haven't worn them more!

Plus Size Bikini

"Plus Size Girls can't wear this", "Plus Size Girls can't wear that". The age old discussion. Black=slimming, don't wear stripes, and God forbid you wear a bikini. I'm going to put it as simply as it is. Plus Size girls like all women, can wear whatever they want. I, for one love rocking a Bikini on holidays! I just love finding one that I like, and that flatters my shape, the way I like.
Plus size retailers have answered our calls, and now there's an array of bikini's for plus size girls. Now I did go shopping at the wrong time of year, and the Spring/Summer 2014 swimwear collections haven't hit stores yet. I picked up this Bikini in two different stores. I wanted a plain black classic bikini and I searched high and low! I picked up my bottoms from SwimdressBoutique and the Bikini top from Asos Curve. The top isn't as supporive as I'd like but it keeps the girls in check, without spilling out! It's comfortable on the back, without being too loose, or too tight. As long as you're comfortable at the beach or pool, you should wear whatever you want. I'm not a hugh fan of my stomach, so I prefer high waist bottoms, giving me a 50's look. Walking down to the pool I like to rock a Kimono, for a more put together look. I love Kimono's paired with Bikini's as it's not only stylish but gives you a little bit more coverage.
In terms of support both the bottoms, and the top are adequate for swimming and sunbathing. The bottoms are high, but not too high. I find some high waisted bottoms, they rise up too high, and don't show off any of your stomach - your stomach needs a bit of sunshine too ;) These ones are perfect, come up high enough for Sian to be a happy bunny. They aren't "slimming" pants or anything, but they do hold you in a little bit, giving you that extra comfort and support! The Halter-neck bikini top is adjustable so you can get a much support as your bust needs. The cups are adequate, although I do wish they were set in Bra sizes, as I'd feel just a little more comfortable in it. However it fits well and doesn't ride up, or the straps don't tangle.
I felt absolutely fantastic in this Bikini, and felt so comfortable and confident. No matter what size you are, braving a bikini is always a bit daunting. Just because you don't have a flat stomach, a "thigh gap" etc doesn't mean you're any less gorgeous than girls who do! All women are beautiful no matter what shape or size they are, and the sooner we all learn to accept that, and embrace all body shapes and sizes the sooner, we'll all be happy in our swimwear!

What I Wore: Littlewoods "So Fabulous" Dress

Today was a little bit cloudy, but still surprisingly warm. It's so nice to get a bit of heat on your bones in January, when everything seems so doom and gloom. I'm back tomorrow afternoon, and dreading wearing big heavy jammies, and clutching a hot water bottle every night, before I go to sleep! I'm off enjoying the sun, as you read this (hopefully) in the hopes of getting one big blast, to do me for a couple of months!
When my Dad, went up to the Attic to get my Summer clothes, I was anxious to know if this dress was with them. I got it in 2011 from the "So Fabulous" range from Littlewoods. I loved everything about it. The cut, the style, the print and the sleeves. It's the perfect Summer dress in my opinion, and I'm only a little bit gutted I didn't have it these past two Summer's. What originally attracted me to it was the print. I'm a sucker for colourful prints, and think they look beautiful with a tan. It's got an elasticated waistband, and it sits at the smallest part of my torso, so it's really flattering for an hourglass figure. The V-neck is flattering for a bigger bust, yet isn't too tacky, or over the top.
It is a little on the short side, but that's what Holiday's are for, no? It's not too short, although I do have to be a bit cautious as this Island is notoriously windy, but other than that I don't flash me pants to much. Again I leave the dress to do the talking, and leave the jewellery behind! An across the body bag is a nice touch, and leaves my hands free for doing a bit of shopping! The perfume and cosmetics are a lot cheaper here, so I'm off today to do some last minute shopping before I go home tomorrow! This bag like my beige one is from Fran&Jane, and I absolutely love it. It's so handy, looks really expensive and is easy for slinging over your shoulder.
Instead of going for my neutral sandals, I went with these babies from River Island. I got these again in 2011, and it was a trek and a half trying to source them in Dublin. I went to three River Island stores and I only managed to pick up a size 40. I'm normally a 39 but I loved them so much, I sacrificed the extra room. They're brightly colour, and although one stone has fallen out, it going unnoticed because they're extremely blingy. I also rocked my "Up the Amp" from MAC and have surprisingly gotten a lot of wear out of it this Holiday! I suppose I've a lot more purple in my clothes, than I thought! I only applied a lighter layer, as I didn't want the look to be too dramatic, since I'm not really wearing any foundation etc! Overall I love this dress, and can't wait to crack it out again in Summer!

What I Wore| Kaftan Dress

It's not holiday's for me, without a Kaftan. I love them. They suit the curvier figure well and they can be dressed up or down, depending on where you're going, or what you're doing. Two years ago, I went on a Kaftan frenzy, and bought this one from River Island. I loved everything about it when I saw it. The Colour, the fit and the vibrant pattern.
The neckline on this dress is probably my favourite part. It's a very deep V, but the material covers your boobs nicely, so you know you're not going to pop out! Normally I would hike up the dress a bit more, but I actually like this length, it's quite lady like and is perfect for going out for a meal or even a spot of shopping in the Sun. I paired it with a statement necklace to compliment the blue in the dress and I couldn't be more pleased with the result. The necklace was a bargain in a wholesale boutique in Paris, and I picked it up for next to nothing, along with two other colours! Sometimes I find statement necklaces to be too much paired with other patterns, but I think this one is just right.
I paired it with my nude sandals, which have been worn to death this holiday, they go with everything, and they're incredibly comfortable. I got them two years ago, and they're lasting up well and I'd say I'll get another year out of them, before I lay them to rest. They have a lovely pearl and bow detail, which is so feminine and pretty, I only hope I can get another pair that are equally as pretty! Make-up as has really take a back seat, and I'd love to say my skin has improved, but I've foolishly burnt my face! After it's healed I'm going to go for a facial and get my skin in tip top condition this year. I only filled in my eyebrows, added a little bit of mascara, and just a bit of concealer to try and cover up my beetroot face.

Hope you're enjoying my frequent postings, I really am! It gives me a chance to be on my own for a few minutes, before the folks drive me insaaaane (Mam if you're ready this, I'm LYING)

Swimdress Boutique Review

Like most Plus size girls, I struggle to find nice swimwear, that's not only affordable and stylish! I've gotten some great swimwear over the past couple of years from Monif C, Rue107, and even Tesco, but when the lovely Liz emailed me from SwimdressBoutique I was more than happy to test out a swimsuit for her. On the first few days of my holiday, I like wearing a swimsuit, as they're more coverage and you're less likely to get badly burnt the first day! The gorgeous Polka Dot Multiway Swimdress* really got my eye, It has a great retro feel, and it's probably the most comfortable swimsuit I've ever owned.
It has removable straps for comfort and they support your bust, without digging into you as well as being adjustable. It's great that you can remove the straps for getting a sun tan. If you're not a fan of tan lines, just whip them off, absolutely no bother. It also has a lovely little skirt attached, covering the very tops of my thighs, which is great if you're like me and a bit conscious of them.  It really flatters your curves, and I feel really good wearing it. It's hard to find flattering swimsuits that don't cost an arm and a leg that's great quality, so I'm thrilled to have been luck enough to test it out. I've been swimming in this in both the sea, and the pool and it's been absolutely ideal,
The straps not only look retro, the halter-neck supports your bust and gives you a great shape, and the skirt ruches around the stomach area, and covers the thighs, a really great swimsuit in my opinion! So if you're looking for cute, affordable and comfortable plus size swimsuits, look no further than Swimdressboutique! I for one will definitely be ordering a few more, for my Holiday's in the Summer. Everything about this swimsuit is cute and functional! The straps not only look retro, the halter-neck supports your bust and gives you a great shape, and the skirt ruches around the stomach area, and covers the thighs, a really great swimsuit in my opinion!
I know some women of all shapes and sizes can dread swimsuit season (although a long way away still for most) but there's really no need to be. Hate to break it to ya loves, but no one's looking at ya, people are far too concerned with how they look, than how you look, so rock that Swimsuit or Bikini or whatever you feel like!

Liz has also given  you the code FLYER10 for 10% off your order

What I Wore| Oversized Shirt

Today's Outfit is a little bit different, it was a little cloudy in the morning, but the sun came out to play at about 3pm! Myself and Mum went around some shops, and then stopped by the sea front for some Coffee. It's a really nice and relaxing place here, I kept things covered today as It was a bit chilly, but I shouldn't have as the sun came out in full force and I was roasting.
I've had the shirt for months, and months and can't believe I'm only getting around to photographing it! This oversized sheer shirt is from Topshop, last Summer. I wasn't sure whether to get it or not, and actually didn't buy it on two occasions I could of. In typical Sian fashion, when I went back and they only had smaller sizes left, I needed it. I nearly gave up looking, when one day I was in House of Fraser, on my lunch break from work and found one left in a size 14! It's really oversized and fits me perfectly, and if push came to shove the size 12 would of worked too. The oversized trend is perfect for Plus Size gals, as they're loads on the high street! I was a bit gutted to miss the blue colour entirely! I never saw it, in any of the Topshop stores and it sold out in a flash online. The Coral is a nice and different colour though and I know I'll wear it loads and loads this Spring/Summer
I'm avoiding black this holiday,so paired this shirt, with Khaki skinny jeans, and nude flats, I love this combination more than I thought it would, it's the perfect Spring/Summer casual outfit and can take you from day to night. I'm actually wearing this out for dinner now! Holiday's are all about relaxing and I'm too tired to change! ;) After seeing my lovely friend Amy (Serious style crush!) wear this shirt and necklace combo and seeing I'd both the shirt and necklace. I decided to rock it too and I love the layered look the necklaces give! I've been looking these sunglasses I picked up on Ebay, I can't stop wearing them, even though I brought a four other pairs! The only downside is I've been left with massive white circles around my eyes!
[Shirt:Topshop, Jeans:Dunnes Stores, Bag:Primark, Necklace:Monsoon]

Anyway I must dash, off for a late dinner!

What I Wore| H&M Multicoloured Dress

When I was packing for my Holiday's I made my Dad, climb into the attic to bring down my Summer Clothes. I didn't touch them last year, and to be honest nearly forgot about them! I found 4 lovely dresses, that were just shoved away, unloved in the corner of my attic. I'm sorted for this Summer too, so I'm of course delighted. I love finding new gems, that you'd completely forgotten about!
This dress is from H&M, and cost no more than €20. It's light, airy and isn't too short for going out for lunch or dinner! It's really easy to throw on, and perfect for travelling as it doesn't crease! It's got a little flutter sleeve, which I love! The colours in the dress are perfect for your holiday's because you can pick up any colour and accessorize it easily. I paid it with my nude gold trimmed bag from Fran&Jane and some pretty nude Sandals from New Look (from 2012) I've applied "Up the Amp" for a more put together look, and to give my lips a pop of colour. I wore this to dinner last night, with a cardigan, as it get's a little chilly as night here!
My Sunburn is still there, but I'm getting a good colour regardless. I'm trying my best to cover my face, when I'm sunbathing where the worst of it is. The Sun is really strong, here, stronger than I'd imagined! It feels so weird, relaxing in the sun, when two days ago I was wrapped up in two duvet's trying to stay warm! It's a lovely quiet resort, here, well a lot quieter to when I was there last! I was here with the girls two years ago, and to say it's a completely different holiday is an understatement, No seedy, cheap bars will be visited on this trip, I can assure you ;)! Although I miss my gals! So far I'm having a fantastic time, and don't want to come home to dull and dreary Ireland, I may have to make some makeup purchases on my last day, to ease the pain a little bit ;)

What I Wore | Animal Print Maxi Dress

I'm a lucky duck sunning myself in Fuertaventura, It's lovely getting a bit of Winter Sun, definitely worlds away from the doom and gloom in Dublin!  I've been here for one day, as I've already got a bit of a colour and a hella a lot of a burn. I don't know why I wore a factor so low, but I've definitely learnt my lesson! The weather is really warm and sunny, most of the time with a few clouds every so often! I don't care as well as I can swim a little and get a bit of tan! I've brought clothes that are easy to wear, and that aren't too fussy! This maxi dress is a God send, and It's so light and easy to throw on, plus it doesn't take up too much room in my suitcase.
On Holiday's I keep my hair and makeup really simple, as well as accessories. I've only brought a couple of necklaces and a ring, to dress up some of my outfits at night. I've no jewellery on here,as there is some little studs around the neckline. I hate wearing jewellery on holiday especially during the day, it's far too hot! As for makeup, I'm just wearing a tinted lip balm here as I like having a little bit of colour on my lips, but don't want to slap on lipstick, that could easily dry out my lips! I have a few from "Catrice" a budget makeup brand, picked up in Penney's and I have a few of Revlon's "Lip Butters" Both are really hydrating!
The huge sunglasses cover up most of my face anyway! I bought them on Ebay for about €5 a couple of weeks ago. I used to have a similar pair in brown but they tragically broke and I've been looking for a pair similar for ages! This Yours Clothing* dress is floor length on me at 5'6 but isn't too long, that I'm tripping up over the ends. I got it last Summer, so unfortunately it's not available any more, but I'm sure this Summer, they'll have loads of new and pretty ones! Anyway I just thought I'd say hello!

Hope you're all having a nice and relaxing Sunday!

Happy Friday

I'm a bit of a perfectionist, ask anyone. I'm pretty sure I've a mild case of OCD, but that's for another day. I've lost countless times, where I don't publish photo's because I'm not happy with them. It might be for a number of reasons. Location, Quality, outfits.. . I know I'm not alone but it's really beginning to bother me. I suppose that's the reason I've been writing more, and more beauty posts. Don't get me wrong I'm a beauty junkie too,and I'm constantly stocking up on the newest products, but I'm beginning to loose sight of why I started this Blog in the first place. I started it as a Plus Size Fashion Blog, but now I feel it's more beauty! I'm off on holiday's tomorrow, so I wanted to showcase you all a new favourite jacket of mine! I've been wearing it to death over the past little while, but haven't liked any of the photo's I've taken, including these.
I don't know why, though! I love the outfit, the dress was a very kind gift from my lovely friend Isha, and the Jacket was very kindly sent to my from Yours Clothing! I'd my eye on it at Plus North, so I was so happy when I got the chance to review it! The outfit is really simple. I'm not wearing any jewellery. This Quilted Jacket*is a great addition to any wardrobe. It really break the boundaries of Plus Size fashion, as I haven't seen any jacket like this, in any of the other Plus Size retailers. The fit is great, and the jacket itself is really soft. It's definitely one of my favourite jackets! I've worn this so many times, and it's got absolutely no sign of wear, a great testament to Yours Clothing. I want to put a little disclaimer here though. I work quite closely with Yours Clothing, but it never changes or alters my views of the company or product. They're an absolute pleasure to work with, and I've never been disappointed in the 18 months I've been working with them! So if you haven't tried them yet, I really urged you to! They've even expanded their sizing in some of their clothes up to a 36! The dress Isha sent to me is absolutely amazing, and I love it! It's not something I'd ever pick out myself, but I'm so glad she did! It's so pretty, and looks just as nice with flats as it does with heels, and is a great change from the black I've been wearing 24/7 lately.  I've worn this on a night out with a fitted blazer, and statement lippy and got so many compliments-so thank you Isha!
Anyway, What I'm trying to say is I think I'm over critical of myself. I criticise my self for not working too much, than working too hard. When my photo's don't turn out right, yada yada. The more I look at these pictures the more I like them. Sure it's not the best angle, sure it's not a full body shot, and the quality could be better, but I'm the only one who probably zones in on that. I look really happy, and carefree. I like my smile, as my da says, I'd want to for all the money he spent on braces! I'm off now for a week of Winter Sun, I've a lot of thinking to do, so I hope I can clear my head for a fresh new start. I'm going to take outfit photo's when I'm away to get back into the swing of thing, and I'm excited. As it was a last minute Holiday, and the fact that I'm broke there's nothing new but I don't think I've dug these outfit's out in a long, long time so you probably won't even remember! Anyway, I'll be posting over there, if the Wi-fi is any good, so hopefully I'll chat to you soon!

Facebook Body Bashing.

This post has been floating around in my head for awhile, as it's not a new problem.  I'd throw down some words and see how it goes. Not one for major rants but I think some things in the plus size community needs to be addressed. There will probably be no structure to this post, but never one to be quiet, I thought I'd chip in my few cents and write down all these thoughts swirling around in my head.

Over the last two days, on two different plus size Facebook pages, that both websites featured two of my lovely Blogger friends on their Facebook pages, and some comments are less to be desired. As a self confessed social media addict, I'm constantly trawling through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I find social media fantastic to connect with like minded people, and have met some wonderful inspiring women through  it. I've of course like most Bloggers have encountered the odd internet troll, but that comes with the territory and quite frankly it's something that now goes over my head, and I would strongly advise others to do the same. I've learnt the hard way, that you'll never win a battle with Internet trolls. You may defeat one, but they're will always be more idiotic, uneducated moron's that you shouldn't waste your breathe on. It's a sad fact about Social Media, but it's one we all need to expect. As a plus size Blogger, a lot of the time the negative comments are to do with your weight, in the past I've always naively assumed it was coming from someone who wasn't overweight, who just wanted to put other's down about something, that didn't affect them directly.

However over the past while I've noticed an alarming change in the Internet trolls.  These trolls aren't these "picture perfect" women I'd foolishly assumed were the bullies, a lot of them in fact are also plus size. They're normal people who themselves are overweight. Society already tells overweight women that they can't wear certain clothes, and still look good (along with million and one other things) and  It really bother's me that some other plus size women agree with this. Not only agree with this, but  try and reinforce it onto other plus size women who want to break free of those rules and want to rock whatever they bloody well feel like. I know not everyone is as confident and daring as other women, and that's okay! Variety is the spice of life, and you're entitled to wear a swimsuit, as much as I'm entitled to wear a bikini. However what's not okay, is letting these women know, that they don't fall into the categories that you feel is appropriate for plus size women. All you need to do is look on the Simply Be, Yours Clothing and Evans Facebook pages, and you'll see what I'm talking about. Nearly every single time they feature a Blogger "modelling" their clothes, there's a string of  awful body shaming comments, from other plus size women. All these brands, they do delete a lot of them, and they try their hardest to prevent such negativity, but it's inevitable, that some will slip through the nets. I'm just so baffled onto why women who have more than likely received some criticism about their appearance in the past, wilfully project such negatively onto similar women.

The only obvious reason is that these women aren't comfortable and confident in themselves, and believe everything that the mainstream media tells them about plus size women. That overweight women are nothing but  "fat", "lazy", "unattractive" (I could go on, and on). However, does that give them the right to try and tear another woman down, tell them publicly that the article of clothing they're confidently and happily wearing "Doesn't do anything for her" and is "Awful"? I don't think so. Nothing gives someone the right to try and tear someone's self esteem down, purely because it's not something you'd personally wear.I wonder how they would they feel, if the tables were reversed? A lot of it more than likely comes down to a deep rooted insecurity within themselves. A lot of us forget, that just because we're all happy with ourselves, not everyone is, and some other plus size women are crippled with this insecurity and self hate. This of course is no excuse for their bullying tactics, but you can at least try and sympathise with them. They have no self confidence or self esteem and can't grasp the concept of other women, embracing their bodies and sticking the middle finger up at society. I know myself, there's something's I wouldn't be confident wearing, but I'd be inspired by other women who are brave enough and would applaud their courage. Just because you're not comfortable wearing something, doesn't mean you have to pass on your insecurity to those who do. What I find most upsetting, is these women don't see anything wrong with what they're saying. The only thing, we can do is just keep being ourselves and hopefully we'll encourage more women to step out of the box.

I find a lot of the time people see Bloggers, and put them up on these imaginary pedestals. They see them posting pictures online, showcasing different looks from different brands and the feel like they have the right to remark on it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I understand everyone's taste is different, but that still gives no one the right to comment in such a negative and detrimental way.  Blogger's are normal girls, there's nothing special about us! They have feelings and 9/10 it's a hobby for them, not a job.  Yes they're consenting adults, and post pictures of themselves online, but that still doesn't give anyone the right to tear them apart and be critical of what they're wearing, and how they;re wearing it.  When Blogger's are featured on these Facebook pages, we're showing how the garment fits on different bodies, so we're actually doing them a favour.  I don't understand, that if they don't like the garment, don't buy it! Again everyone different tastes, and preference, and like I said you're entitled to it, just stop this disgusting body snark.

What are your thoughts?

Glam Glow YouthMud Tingling & Exfoliating Mud Mask

I think the eating everything and anything over Christmas have reeked havoc with my skin. Over the last week, I've been getting a number of spots, that are not only sore, but very stubborn. Whenever I feel my skin needs a new lease of life, I go to GLAMGLOW mud masks. I've tried and tested the SuperMud, and absolutely love it, so I thought it was only right, to test out their Youthmud "Tinglexfoliate Treatment" and hoped it would give me equally, if not better results. The Marketing team behind GLAMGLOW are brilliant as it's probably the most talked about face mask ever, with a celebrity following! It claims to draw out impurities and toxins as well as exfoliating the skin. I'm always looking for exfoliants as my skin is being a nightmare at the moment as the dryness has gotten even worse!
The first thing that you notice, is that this 15ml tub is a lot smaller than SuperMud, and to be honest  I was a little bit concerned, that I'd use this all up in one go. I can be quite heavy handed with lotions and potions, and tend to just slap it on my face. However I needn't of worried as a little goes a long way, once you're cautious and only apply light layers. I googled online, and some die-hard fans recommend using a foundation brush to get the most out of the product, which I definitely will try next time! Like the SuperMud, you can use it on your whole face, or on just concentrated area's. Now like SuperMud, it's not cheap, so I was just an anxious to test this baby out, as I was really, really impressed with SuperMud, and am going to repurchase it, when the jar (which is nearly empty!) runs out. It's the perfect mask to give your skin a complete overhaul, and I for one feel fantastic, after I use it.
So I first used it, when my skin was in absolute bits. I was going out drinking and burning the candle at both ends, and not taking care of my skin at all. My skin was dull and  lifeless and I looked like I was sick constantly, never a good look! I was also suffering from horomonal breakouts, which was the cherry on top of the cake. This mask is great for skin congestion and spots, and gets rid of excess Sebum on the skin, making it a great for oily skin too. I don't have oily skin, and still got great results when using this mask. Now at 15ml it's not a big pot, and I applied a thin layer all over my face. They also recommend to apply it on your neck and d├ęcolletage, but I'm not made of money so just applied it to my face. If I was to purchase this product I probably would go for the 50ml tub instead of the 15ml, as they is only about €14 in the difference, depending on where you purchase it. (Feel Unique being the cheapest).
GLAMGLOW YouthMud* €34
As you can see it 'aint the prettiest mask, but that's what I kind of like about it, there's no unnecessary junk in it, that would be harmful to your skin. It's a Clay mask, and clay masks are fantastic for spots! I've actually just applied the mask to my skin, and can feel it tingle, which is a real selling point for me. I love immediate effect, and am probably the most impatient person known to man, so this ticks the right box for me. I like when face masks tingle, as you can feel it getting to work and I can nearly feel all the gunk being removed from my skin. For the benefit of this post, I took a picture! I feel like Shrek, but whatever! I've gone without makeup and in a bikini on the blog, so might as well take things up a notch ;) As you can see it also includes some "TeaOxi", but personally I don't understand exactly what they do, and are a bit of a nuisance when they fall on the bathroom floor.

Now at €34 it's not cheap, and I for one am probably the last person that would of initially bought this. Before trying this I read a couple of reviews, and although they were mostly positive, I really had to try it for myself, and quite frankly I'm so glad  I did. Just like SuperMud its absolutely fantastic, and you can feel it working on your skin. It's the perfect treat for your skin and I for one, would 100% forgo a night out to purchase this again!

It's available in Marks&Spencers and Feel Unique

Best Skincare Products of 2013

2013 was a year that I started properly looking after my skin. I've always been lazy when it comes to my skincare regime, but was lucky enough to test some products out, that I've really liked and have added them permanently to my skincare routine, and my skin has reaped the benefits. My all time favourite skincare brand is La Roche-Posay, as it's so gentle on my skin and really combats any breakouts, and keeps my skin clear. I've really turned over a new leaf now, and no matter how late I get in I always, always take off my makeup before bed. These products make it less of a mundane task and I actually enjoy using them all!
Vichy Aqualia Thermal*
This product can be used as a face mask and a moisturiser as well as as face mask, making it the perfect multi-tasking product for Winter. It's extremely hydrating and I love having a nice bath, applying a generous amount to my face and relaxing for a while, it's like a special spa in the comfort of your own home!  It's also smells and looks amazing. A great pick me up for when your skin is in need of hydration.
Okay, this is no surprise to anyone. This is my favourite product of 2013. It's a miracle product, that I'll repurchase when it runs out. It clears my redness, evens out my skin tone and get's rid of any pesky spots that appear out of no where. I've had this little gem for a few months now, and there's still a decent amount of product left in the tube! I really couldn't recommend this more!
La Roche-Posay Nutritic Intense Moisturiser*
Another cult product, and I for one, would happily only use this for the rest of my life. I suffer my dry skin, but after using this my skin seems to always be soft. I use it religiously and I'd be lost without it. It's extremely hydrating and sinks straight into the skin, even though it's a thicker formula. I've used this more than my Effaclar Duo, and nearly out, but the second I do, I'm hot footing it to the chemist to buy another one.
This was a new brand I was introduced last year. It's a lovely formula, and leaves my skin feeling softer, looking plumper and just generally feeling fantastic. It's got a lovely silky texture to it and it smells amazing! Above all it's really moisturising on my dry skin. If you haven't tried of this brand, I'd really recommend it to you. The products aren't cheap, but if you're looking to splash out, this product is the one I'd recommend most.
Everyone one and their mother has heard about this product last year. It's a cult product that has a celebrity following, and at first look I was sceptical. After trying out the "Super Mud" I was hooked, it's an unbelievably good product, and your skin is left feeling fantastic after just one mask. I've been trying to use this sparingly over the last while, but my supply is drying up! I will one million percent be picking up another one as it really is a miracle worker.
L'oreal "3 in 1 Micellar Solution"
I'd heard such good reviews of this product on countless beauty blogs. It's especially for sensitive skin, and removes all traces of makeup and drags out all impurities from your skin, which is a winner for me! It's so easy to use, I just sweet it across my face with a cotton pad, and my skin is left fresh and clean. It's really such a simply and easy way to remove all your makeup, and for around €6 you can't go too wrong!

Winter Sun/Weekend Break :Airport Style

I'm among the lucky few, jetting off next week for a week of Sun. I've a severe cash of the January Blues, and I hope this cures it! All I need is a little bit of Vitamin D to recharge, and prepare for what 2014 has in store for me. I've decided to do a few Airport looks, as I know I'm not the only one who hate's the stress of travel, so putting a few outfits together will hopefully ease my stress, and yours if you're heading off to the Sun, or even a nice Weekend break. I love doing these looks, as they're not just for us plus size girls, all types of women read this blog, so I want to be more inclusive. Similar outfit's can be picked up on the High Street, and all Plus Size retailers.
Airport Look 1
This look is probably the one I'll be rocking on my way to the Sun next week. An embellished T-shirt is both casual, and fashionable and can take you anywhere. A longer length one is perfect for travelling, and looks as good over leggings, as it does Jeans. If you're wearing jeans travelling I would suggest going for one that stretch, so you won't be uncomfortable throughout the flight. An over-sized cardigan is perfect for travelling. It's nice and toasty in the cold, but you can easily take it off on the plane when it gets too warm. You can also snuggle up under it, and use it as a blanket, if you want a little kip. I personally like wearing ballet flats travelling, as they're easy to take off going through Security, when I've my million and one things to worry about. A pair of over-sized sunglasses are essential for tired eyes, and make you look glamorous, regardless of how you feel! This Bag from H&M is the perfect travel size. You can fit in all your bits, and bobs  and it also has a shoulder strap if you want to sling it over your shoulder for more comfort. Essentials for me travelling are a pair of headphones, and a lipbalm, as my lips get insanely dry on all flights!

Airport Outfit 2
This look, is one I'd wear on a weekend trip away. As it's not your typical Airport Style. It's stylish, edgy and most importantly for travel comfortable. Skinny jeans, and a loose fitting tank top are ideal for travel. Skinny jeans (again must have stretch in them) for me as surprisingly comfortable. I've a pair of the "Chloe Skinny Ankle Grazers" from Simply Be, and love them and can't get over how comfortable to wear. A loose tank top is nice and airy, topped off with an oversized Kimono from New Look and you're bang on trend. Ankle boots probably weigh the most, so if you're away for a weekend and don't want to take up room in your luggage wear them! To complete the look add a statement necklace, and a Fedora hat and you'll be ready to Rock and Roll! Again with the H&M black bag. It's so useful, and goes with pretty much everything. Of course no Airport outfit  is complete without a pair of sunglasses, and these Rayban's are classic. It just goes to show, you can be fashionable AND comfortable when you're travelling, and you don't need a grubby tracksuit.
Untitled #80
Now this is the most relaxed out of the three outfits. This would be the perfect outfit if you're travelling further a field or if you're going to travelling the whole day, but Planes/Trains and Auto-mobiles. It's relaxed, but doesn't compromise on style. Nike Runners are all the rage lately, and not just for the gym. I love this colourful pair. If you're getting a pair for casual wear, they might as well be pretty! To co-ordinate the outfit, and oversized soft knit jumper. This one is from Victoria Secret "Pink" I love their casual wear, as it's so comfortable and the quality is pretty good. Their sizes also run a little big bigger, in case you're wondering! I'd layer a lighter pink tank top underneath it for a layering effect and throw on a pair of thick leggings. Although I'll always make sure my tank top covers my bum, Leggings are not trousers. To complete the look a nice soft knitted snood will tie in nicely with the pastels pink. For this look I choose a Duffel bag style, as you can carry more and you can wear it across the body, and it compliments this look for than a leather bag. A pair of aviators would really suit this look, as well as putting your hair up in a messy pony-tail.

Let me know if you're any Winter breaks planned!

Velvet and Studs

A little bit before Christmas the lovely folks over at Simply Be, asked me to take part in a Challenge. I was gifted a pair of shoes, and I had to style an outfit around them. Now it's no secret, that I'm not a huge fan of New Years, and this year I did nothing, which was rather enjoyable! However, If I was to go out, I knew the dress I'd pair these shoes with. Again before Christmas I was sent this Lovely Scarlett&Jo Dress. It's absolutely beautiful and would of been the most perfect dress for New Years Eve. I thought these gorgeous Silver Shoes would compliment it perfectly.
Excuse the flash, my legs aren't half tanned! This Black Side Side Split Velvet Maxi Dress* is so extremely comfortable. I'm not a huge fan of Body Con dresses purely for the fact, I've a tummy, and no bum but this dress is so well made, it just hugs to my figure. I didn't even wear any shapewear! The ruches are in all the right places, and you don't need any jewellery because of the embellished neckline.
I decided to edge up the dress a bit, and rock it with my pleather Jacket from Forever21+. I was pleastantly surprised with how much I like this combination, and love how it's such a contrast to the pretty dress, and the bling shoes! As you can see it has a lovely sweetheart neckline, which flatters a bigger bust, and doesn't shoe your bra, a  concern I did have on first inspection. I'm just wearing my normal bra, and the straps aren't too noticeable. The ruching is so flattering, and sits on your curves, perfectly, giving you a lovely hourglass figure.
This dress is perfect for showing off these gorgeous Shoes. A lot of dresses with slits, don't come right, up much to my disappointment, but this one comes up to my mid thigh, which is sexy, without being too much! I am so thrilled with these shoes, as they work so well with the dress. Originally I was going to pair it with a pair of black parent heels, bit I love how party inspired these Shoes are! Not only are they party appropriate, but they're so comfortable, and I can dance for hours in them!
So let me talk a little bit about these amazing Anna Scholz Studded Platform Shoes* I'm normally not a huge fan of silver shoes, as they remind me of my tacky Teenage disco days, but there's something very sophisticated about these shoes, even though they are studded. You can tell why they were originally £60, as the quality is excellent. I went for the EEE fit, as I'm wary of strappy shoes and they fit wonderfully. I love heels, although not so much the height! These babies are over 4inches and I feel like I'm walking on clouds. They're so incredibly comfortable, I actually wore these out over Christmas with a pair of Leather trousers, and they looked equally as fab! They're such beautiful shoes, and I can't wait to rock them again soon!

A close up of the dress, it's so lovely! All I'm short of doing is wearing it to the Supermarket as I love it so much. It's true to size, and if you wanted it more figure hugging, I'd suggest going down a size. I do have  a slight critique though, I wish it was a little longer, as I'm only 5'6, and it's a little short on me, but that's just my personal preference!

Okay, so today was officially the most depressing day of the year. I for one wasn't affected as working in retail you don't really get a Christmas! Sleek "Face Form" Contouring and Blush Palette in "Light"

It's no secret that Contouring or Sculpting has become a beauty bandwagon that we've all hopped on. If you don't do it right, you can end up looking down right ridiculous. I normally use a blush or a light brown to contour my face, as I feel it gives me a more natural look, and doesn't leave any obviously lines. I like to use a nice golden highlighter too, and not just a pinky tone as I feel this can look to cold for me personally in Winter. When I was at my Cousins's Wedding in Glasgow back in October I popped into Superdrug and picked up the much coveted Sleek Contour Palette in the shade "Light". I've heard so many good reviews of this bad boy, I was so eager to try it out.
First things first, the packaging is lovely and minimalistic. I find a lot of drug store brands have cheap looking packaging, but this isn't the case for Sleek makeup. It's plain black and not fussy in the slightest. It's also the perfect size for your makeup bag, and doesn't take up much space at all! Inside it you get a beautiful trio of products. A matte bronzer, A golden shimmery highlight and the most beautiful blusher "Rose Gold", which is a well known dupe for Nars "Orgasm" I've raved about this blush to all the girls in work, and they went off and ordered it, it's THAT nice.
The matte brown is perfect for contouring. it's not too dark, nor too light. I've been using this now for a couple of weeks, and I absolutely love it. It's so easy to work with, and blends into the skin beautifully. I blend it into the hollow of my cheeks, my temples. and the outside of my nose. The Highlight isn't too shimmery and doesn't stand out too much on the skin, it just gives you a nice healthy glow. I sweep it on my cheekbones, along the bridge of my nose to get the look I want. The Blush is probably my favourite part and product in the palette! It's a gorgeous Pinky/Coral toned blush with hints of sparkles. It gives me a lovely natural colour and is a great dupe for Nars "Orgasm".
Over all this is a great low budget product, and truth me told it this palette was double the price, I'd still repurchase. The quality of Sleek is fantastic for their price point. Whenever I go into a Superdrug in the UK, I heavily stock up. I use their Eyebrow kit on a daily basis as well as one of their bright pink blusher "Flamingo" (which I'll review soon!) If you're a newbie to contouring or don't know what kit to go for, I couldn't recommend this kit more!
As you can see, these products really are "Light" I've actually got the medium palette, and it's really more of a Summer palette for me, who's Casper the Ghost over here, at the moment! More often than not, Contour powder's are darker than my skin requires, but I've finally found the right one! If you want a review of the "Medium" Palette, please let me know so I can do a post on it, and you can compare the two!

You can pick up Sleek in Superdrug if you're in the UK, or you can check it out on  Sleek's official website

Things I've Learnt in 2013..

So it's finally 2014! I can't believe how fast this last year has gone, it was a good year and I was reminded how lucky and blessed I was to have such a great family and friends. For 2014 I'm changing a lot. I want to change and be challenged and I don't know how to start this journey as of yet. All I do know is I'm going to put in 110% into everything I do, and hopefully I'll look back on 2014, with pride and satisfaction
With a New Year comes new hopes, dreams and goals. I don't do New Years Resolutions as I don't think I've ever stuck to one for more than a week, and a sense of failure the second week of January is not a very good start to what's essentially a blank page. Last year I did my goals for the year, but this year I'm doing something a little different. I've decided to include a couple of things I learnt in 2013 and share them with you all.  My 24 things I've Learnt in 24 Years went down a treat, so I hope you enjoy this one, just as much!

  • People change, sometimes for the better, sometimes not.
  • You'll learn that pulling all nighters in Uni is a lot easier than doing it when you're 23. This will become evident when you're project is due the next afternoon for College and you fall asleep half way through the night.
  • Old friends are good ones, never forget that. You mightn't see them as much as you'd like but when you do, it's like nothing changed.
  • You're always going to be busy, but make sure you always make time for friends and family while you can.
  • If something/someone's not worth it any more, get yourself out of the situation and don't look back.
  • Don't judge people so quick, They'll  turn out to be great friends, and they'll give you endless laughs.
  • However some people are just Dicks. Plain and simple.
  • Stop comparing yourself to others, no one is perfect, and neither are you.
  • Relax about the boy situation. One-night stands aren't your thing, and from what you hear, you're definitely not missing out.
  • You won't get an opportunity you really wanted. Why you didn't get it, will actually be the biggest blessing of 2013. Everything happens for a reason and this will cement what you believe firmly.
  • You bounce back quicker than you think, so don't sweat things. Everything works out in the end.
  • Once you start a savings account, you'll delight in watching it grow and you'll encourage yourself to save more and more.
  • Sometimes staying in is a hell of a lot better than going out.
  • Always prepare for everything when you travel, especially when you're on your own. Always have spare cash, and don't ever rely on a £20 note to get you home, ever again!
  • Life is really precious, so don't waste time doing something you don't love.
  • Always, always have dinner before you drink any sort of spirits or any alcohol for that matter. Hate to say it babes, but you're getting too old for this Malarky!
  • Life can be just  plain and simply shit at times, and everyone's fighting a different battle. Support your friends unconditionally, as you know they'd do the same for you.
So there you go! I feel like I learnt a lot this year, and I'm ready to take on 2014 :)

Did you learn anything valuable last year?
