Boots | Botanic "Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm" Review

Everyone is obsessed with Hot Cloth Cleansers. They're one of the most efficient ways to take off your makeup. I find them really therapeutic too. I love the feeling of getting rid of all the makeup/gunk off my face. Whether it has been a long day or I'm just back from working out.  I do find, however, Hot Cloth Cleansers can be quite pricey, and there haven't been too many cheaper alternatives until now...

Boots Botanics range is a range I've grown up with so when I saw the Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm on offer in Boots the other week. I'm coming to the end of my all time Favourite Merumaya Hot Cloth Cleanser and wanted to give this a whirl. It was under €7 so I dropped it into my basket and hopped for the best. Being entirely honest I hadn't read any reviews online or anything so I wasn't influenced by anything other than the price.
It comes in a nice neat package that is nice and light - so perfect for packing on holiday. It's solid at room temperature, but it melts in your fingers. Once applied your face looks like a grease ball. I like to rub it in for a few seconds before wetting my Muslin cloth with some warm water and then I like to see my makeup disappear. It removes my makeup with absolute ease. I do remove my eye makeup with a specific eye makeup remover first, however. As much as it removes all my makeup I'm a bit funny and like to double cleanse so I remove the rest with some Micellar water.

I can't recommend it enough - it's 97% organic and contains a blend of various oils including lemon peel oil, sweet almond and jojoba seed oil as well as rosehip. The main oil in the cleanser is Olive oil - but it really does work and it smells lovely too. If you're looking for a skincare treat, but don't want to break the bank and still want that indulgence feel then this is the product for you! It was 50% off when I picked it up (The offer is still on!) but it normally retails for €12.99. Still an incredible bargain if you ask me! This product gets a big thumbs up from me!

Max Factor Creme Puff Blush Review

Another beauty post from me today! Sorry, I've been sporadic with my posting with my new job it's all a bit hectic at the moment, but I'm pushing through. Blushes are one of my favourite things to buy and test out. When these babes landed in my post box I was thrilled. Being honest I always kind of skip over Max Factor in terms of makeup, I think all Irish teens had a run in with Max Factor's infamous Pan Stick..
I tested out three shades, but I do believe there are 6 in the range. I was sent "Nude Mauve","Seductive Pink" and "Gorgeous Berries". They are quite similar to the Milani Baked Blushes that have been taking the states by storm for quite some time! My first thought on the packaging was good. It's nice and compact and the lid isn't too hard to open, I find half the time I'm fiddling trying to open a product - especially if I've fake nails on! It doesn't take up too much space in your makeup bag either - which is always good!
I got the perfect mix of colours, one I'd used for a very natural look, one for when I want a bit more colour to my  cheeks and the third if I'm going out on the town! As they're multi-tonal pigments they blend effortlessly giving you a gorgeous flush of colour no matter what colour you chose. I use my Real Techniques blush to apply and it's literally a dream to blend - you only do need a little bit of product however!
Nude Mauve*: A gorgeous golden shimmer, perfect for when you only want a little bit of a colour. If you're looking for a nice natural look then this is the blush for you. If you've a nice tan you could also wear it on your cheekbones as a highlight! As it's a marbled effect, once swirled it leaves a gorgeous soft glow on your cheeks. What was at my first initial thought my least favourite became my favourite almost instantly!

Seductive Pink* I'm a huge fan of pink blushes. The majority of blushes I own are pink, and this was the one I gravitated towards first. It's a lovely natural pink colour with a subtle shimmer to it, which highlights your cheeks beautifully. A little swirl of your blush brush is all you need as these Creme Puff Blushes are really pigmented, so don't go overboard or you'll end up looking a bit cray ladies.

Gorgeous Berries* On first inspection I loved this, it's right up my street. My coworkers all loved it too, and was their favourite out of all the bunch! It's a beautiful berry colour, again with a nice subtle hint of a shimmer. I find this blush is definitely an evening blush or it would be more subtable for Winter. It's still absolutely gorgeous though, I'm just not used to having a darker colour on my cheeks!
Overall, I'm really impressed. The blushes are priced at €11.49 each and I'd definitely fork out for them again! I really want to see what other colours they have in their collection!

You can pick 'em up in Boots!

Lady Voluptuous London | Phoebe Dress

My gorgeous friend George, who I'm sure a lot of you know as Fuller Figure Fuller Bust has recently designed some amazing dresses for Lady V London. Her clothing line is called Lady Voluptuous and it has a style for everyone, whether you love a good bodycon dress or a nice flared skirt!  She's designed some amazing dresses in sizes 16-32 and it's amazing! A lot of plus sizes stop at a size 24, but George was adamant that she wanted to be as inclusive as possible and I couldn't be prouder.

The Phoebe Dress stood out to me most. I gravitate towards flared skirts more as not a fan of Bodycon dresses (But the Ursula Dress is UHMAZING). It's probably to do with my lack of any sort of bum though! My style varies a lot on my mood. Some days I want to rock converse and ripped jeans, but some days I want to dress up to the nines and the Phoebe is the dress for that occasion.  I absolutely love this dress, it was love at first sight. They have an awesome selection of colours, but for me it was between the Cream Pink Rose Floral or the Pink Flamingo. I, of course chose the floral though - so predictable!

I ordered the 16 and it fit like a dream. I'm between a 14 and a 16 and the 16 fits well on my boobs. So if you do have a larger bust I'd say size up! They have so many gorgeous prints too. The quality is superb. It has been my first experience of Lady V and I'm so impressed. The dress is really well made and even comes with a little petticoat to give the skirt that bit of flare. I love the sleeves. I don't mind my arms, but in general I like a little cap sleeves. The sleeves are nice and loose so if your arms are bigger they'll fit comfortably. There is a little bit of stretch in the dress, which sits in and hugs you in all the right places. I haven't felt so confident wearing a dress in a long while. As I've mentioned I absolutely adore the pattern, it's so "me" and I feel so prim and proper in it.  I got a similar dress made in Vietnam with a white background and pink flower design, so it's definitely a print I love!
Overall I think it's an excellent venture that George has embarked on. You can tell how passionate she is about it, and all her hard work has paid off. Priced at just under €75 I found them extremely reasonable. The quality is excellent and the fit is second to none. I feel so fantastic in this dress, something I am struggling with lately as a lot of my clothes are too big and I just don't feel nice in them anymore. I only wish I could wear this dress every day! If you're after something more every day the Lyra dress is amazing. It can be worn for so many occasions and it would be the perfect wardrobe staple. My first taste of Lady Voluptuous has been fantastic and I'll be definitely picking up a few more pieces!

Summer Glow with Bourjois Parisian Collection

We're all in search of that golden glow. The lovely folk at Bourjois have y'all covered for the Summer with their Parisian Collection. If you want to be a bronzed goddess then keep reading! I love Bourjois. I love that they're a High Street brand, but a lot of their products are High End quality. I've been using them for years, and will always remember going into Boots and buying one their Chocolate Bronzer with my pocket money! The Parisian Collection has so many bronzing goodnesses I just had to share them with you all!
Matt Illusion Bronzing Powder "Light Glow"*€10.49
I love a good bronzer. I've got my favourites, ones that I've come to know and trust over the years so I know what I want. I'm a strictly matt girl. The only exception would be a big night out. This is the perfect bronzer for us Irish ladies. It's not too dark, but not too light either. It gives the illusion of the perfect natural tan. It smells amazing and is a pleasure to blend. It's definitely one of the better budget bronzers. It reminds me a bit of Benefit's Hoola bronzer! It comes in two colours "Light Glow" and "Dark Glow" and is reasonably priced at €10.49
BB Bronzing Cream 8 in 1* €11.99
Okay like most BB creams this doesn't offer much in the coverage department, but it would be a handy little number to bring on your hols. If you've a tan this will enhance it and give you a lovely natural sun-kissed glow. If you're conscious about blemishes and don't want to wear foundation just pair this with a concealer (Collection2000 is my all time fav) and you'll be adequately covered! It's also an SPF15 so it would be handy during the day too. It blends in easily and is very hydrating - one of the most hydrating BB creams I've tried.
Sun Illusion Blur Skin Perfector* €11.99
Okay this is my favourite product out of the range. It's basically the Bronzing Primer from last year, but it's more wonderful! It evens out imperfections and gives you a gorgeous natural glow. It's creamy in texture and blends like an absolute dream. After application, your skin just looks so perfect  as it "blurs" imperfections, as well as giving you a gorgeous bronze glow. It's not heavy and doesn't "cake" your face. I like to use it on its own as well under foundation to give me a nice subtle healthy glow!
Sunlight Elixir Body Oil* €16.99
Sian loves a good Body Oil. I suffer from dry skin so I love a good body oil. This one is a little bit special it comes with gorgeous golden shimmer in it and leaves your skin looking positively glowing. A little goes a long way and sinks into your skin relatively quickly. Like all the products in this range, it smells amazing. It can be used on your legs, your decolletage, your arms etc and leaves a gorgeous shimmer. There is definitely a luxurious feel to this product. Not a lot of High Street brands delve into the body oils, so Kudos Bourjois!

What I Wore | Casual Saturday

Like I've said countless times I'm no "Fashion Blogger" I'm just a normal plus size girl that loves fashion and I want to share as much of my outfits as possible, even the ones that are quite boring. I wore this last week to the cinema and for a few drinks after. It's nothing special, but it's comfy!
The top is H&M and is a handy little number. I took it traveling, it's so versatile. You can wear it casually and you can wear it more dressy. I paired it here with my favorite jeans from Topshop which are literally the comfiest pair of jeans ever. I've had them for ages now and they only get better with wear. If you're like me and you're losing weight whack these babies in the dryer and they'll come out nice and tight again!
The outfit is really simplistic. Sometimes I like stripping back and just being effortless. I find at the moment I'm quite dressed up a lot of the time, the exception being Friday which is mainly my free day! Ripped jeans are an essential for me on my casual days - Only when sweat pants or PJ bottoms aren't acceptable. I have noticed I only have one pair of jeans that don't have rips in them, so I'm going to have to change that soon!
For accessories, I kept it simple with one big statement necklace! I've had this one for years and although a bead has fallen out it still looks good as new and you can't notice it at all! I slicked back my hair in a high ponytail so it would be out of my face. To complete the look I rocked a red lip (107 Kate Moss for Rimmel) and some sassy shades!

My Go To Summer Makeup

Okay, the other week when I coming home from work and my face felt disgusting. It was a hot day and I felt I was wearing too much makeup for the heat. I decided then and there to find the Perfect Summer makeup and I think I've found my favourite look. It's really easy, it doesn't make my skin feel heavy and it's also suitable for work too, A win-win.
I've been meaning to test out some products for the longest time, so I was thrilled when these all worked to give me the makeup look I wanted to achieve. My face feels clean and isn't heavy in the slightest. I do have dry skin, so I skipped the powder as I wanted a dewy look, but if you're prone to major skine, you could totally just ad your regular powder for this look.
 The Body Shop Wonderblur*€24.95
After I cleanse and moisturise I apply this to my cheeks, nose, chin and forehead. It gives me the perfect smooth base for my BB cream. It absorbs excess sebum and maintains a matte effect. I've found it works really well, but I do find that you need to solid skincare routine as well to get the best results.

Bourjois Sun Illusion Blur Skin Perfector* €11.95
This wonder product has the benefits of a primer (It mattifies the skin), but this product gives a hint of a tan as well. Most of us want to look nice and sunkissed during the summer months so this is a must have. A little goes a long way and this colour here (fair) worked perfectly with my colouring. If you're on holiday's this would be perfect to wear on it's own!

Bioderma Sensiblo BB Cream*€17.50
I'm sceptical about BB creams. I like them as in their light and if your skin is clear and even it works well for you. However, my skin is a bit red and I find BB creams can emphasise this and just settle into my dry patches. This Bioderma BB Cream in Light is a completely different story. I find it blends into my skin beautiful (I use my fingers for a more natural look) and conceals my imperfections. Sometimes if my skin is acting up I will choose to wear some concealer as well for extra coverage, but today I luckily didn't need it. It's also targetted for sensitive skin and comes with an SPF of 30. If you buy one BB cream this Summer- make it this one.
Bourjois Aqua Blush in Pink Twice* €6.90
To complement my look I used this new Bourjois Aqua Blush. Normally I'm strictly a powder blush kinda gal, but I wanted this look to be for Summer, so nice and light. It's a liquid blush, so I squeezed a little bit out and blended it in. I used a blush brush for this so it blended in perfectly. It's not as long lasting as a powder blush, but I did look the natural look it gave me.

NYX Eyeshadow Stick* €4.90
Now I'm not a fan of the NYX Eyeshadows, but I love their Eyeshadow pencils. I used this all over my lid and just blended it out with a big blending brush. I use the colour "French Fries" which is a gorgeous golden colour. It's quite neutral too and can definitely be built up for a more evening look. The staying power is really good and it's so easy to apply. The only downside is that you have to sharpen them and that can be a bit of a hassle.

Bourjois Instant Brow Mascara*€10.49 and Bourjous Brow Natural*€9.49
I did like the Mascara, I've tried better ones, but I wanted to be as natural as possible. It's not very pigmented but it does the job. Brown Natural is like a felt tip pen for your brows. As a strict brush and powder girl, I was intrigued, but I found it incredibly easy to use. It's small so you can get every hair. If you're new to eyebrows this product would be very handy!
Bourjois  Volume Glamour Waterproof Mascara*€12.49
As it's hot I always make sure I'm wearing waterproof mascara. This one is fantastic. It's easy to apply, doesn't smudge easily and stays on the whole day. It gives my lashes a nice lift, nothing too dramatic though - which is fine for me as I tend to wear this during the daytime. As far as waterproof mascara's go this is definitely one of my favourites. It gives me a nice lift, separates my lashes and doesn't smudge - especially in the heat!

Bourjois Sweet Kiss Lipgloss* €10.99
To complete my look, I used a slick of lipgloss. I've been buying these lipglosses since I was 11, so it's nice to go back to my roots! They're nice, don't stick too much and leave a nice colour. I love these gorgeous peachy pink colour in "As De Pink". It leaves a nice sheen and makes my lips, extra kissable ;) Plus they're inexpensive you can keep a few in your handbag!

Bourjois Beauty Touch Eyebrow Highlighter* €9.49
Does exactly what it says on the pencil. It's a lovely pearly pink and I used it to subtly highlight my browbone. It's easy, not messy and you can direct it exactly where you want it to go. I also use it on my cupid's bow too and depending on my mood I'll use it on my cheekbones too. I like how precise you can be with it. It also blends easily with your finger. It's definitely one of my favourite brow products at the moment!

What I Wore | Cape Blazer

Whenever I'm getting ready for work I also leave this blazer. I don't know why. Perhaps I find it a bit too dressy? The other day I decided to be bold and rock it with my new Yours Clothing trousers. When in doubt of what to wear I always rock all black. It's effortless, timeless and being totally honest it makes me feel like a bad b*tch!

The focal point of this outfit is definitely the Cape Blazer. I saw it on Louise from Style Me Curvy and I had to have it! I picked it up in Soho Boutique in St Stephen's Green Shopping Centre. They only had a 14 and a 10. The 14 was too big on the shoulders and I chanced my arm and the size 10 fitted well! The 12 would have been perfect, but the 10 still fits well enough. It just goes to show to try things on! It's so amazing, and I knew I'm going to wear tons of wear out of it!
I paired it with a statement necklace and a pair of bad ass sunglasses from Penney's! I wore an Evans top that I've had for ages. I picked up the 16 and it has ample room for my bust and is so incredibly comfortable for work. It's light and airy and is perfect for the lovely heatwave we've been having! I picked it up before my trip so it's not available anymore, but they have something similar here. I tied my hair up in a tight pony and added my all time favourite Lipstick from Rimmel's Kate Moss collection. It's colour #107
I wore these Black Jacquard Slim Leg Trousers* that I've been wearing to work for well over a month now. I chose a size 16, and only wish they came in a 14 as they are quite a generous fit. They're so comfortable as they have an elasticated waist at the back and have a nice loose leg so you're not too restricted sitting at a desk. If you're between sizes I'd recommend sizing down as they run a little bit big. The quality is really good and they still look brand new, even when I've worn them at least twice a week. If you're on the lookout for a smart work pant that is extremely comfortable then give these babies a go!

What I Wore | Studio Eight Jumpsuit

This is going to be a nice short and sweet post from me today! Today was a busy day, but I wanted to be both stylish and comfortable. I had to go to work but then be suitable dressed for an evening function too, so it was a bit of a tricky one. I knew what I had to throw on however. My new Jumpsuit from Studio 8
New Plus Size brand (Sister company of Phase Eight) Studio Eight has launched today bringing y'all more choice for the Plus Size market. Currently their size selection is 16-24. They're on the pricer side, but you get what you pay for. I'm all for choice and it's great that some Plus Size women have the choice to wear higher quality and well made clothes.
I chose to rock this Navy Jumpsuit and my boss immediately commented on it when I walked in - in a good way of course! I knew today was going to be one long ass day so I wanted to be comfortable and look chic at the same time. I had to order the Navy Zena Jumpsuit*, you could call it love at first sight. I'm wearing the size 16 and it's literally more comfortable then a pair of PJ's!
I added a pair of nude sandals and a gold and pearl necklace to give it a bit of a lift as well as one of my fav Speedy's. To finish it off I wore my new favourite sunglasses from Tiger Stores that set me back a grand total of €4! I can't fault this Jumpsuit at all. It's absolutely gorgeous. Although at €150 it's on the more expensive side BUT this will last you for years! It would also be perfect for travelling too!
