Even after nearly 18 months I still get a happy feeling, which each new comment, and follower, and have made some fabulous friends through this blog, that I wouldn't have the pleasure of knowing if I hadn't of decided one Saturday night to write my first post. It seems like a gazillion years ago, and I can't imagine how it felt before my life revolved around it - a lot like having a baby! Anyway, enough of my Jibber Jabba... I would really be dead happy if you could vote for me. There's two Categories in which I'm eligible for:

What to Wear when..

Hey Beauties!
What to wear when...It's hot outside. I don't know about you, but when the weather gets warmer I look at all my leggings, tights and jeans and ponder on what to wear. When it's warm the last thing you want to be wearing is tights that will make you really uncomfortable. My last day it was so nice and really warm but  I didn't know what to wear! The sun was shining, and I wanted to remain somewhat cool all day. I dug out my summer clothes, and found these two gems.
Top:New Look, Jeans:Dunnes Stores, Sunglasses/Sandals:Penney's/Primark

Both the top and jeans were bought last Summer, and forgot about. It's the perfect outfit for when it was as hot as it was last week. An empire top is always flattering for girls who want to cover their tummies. I bought this one in the New Look Inspire sale for about a tenner! It's pure cotton, so is breathable in the heat. These 3/4 length jeans are from Dunnes Stores, that I picked up on a whim last Summer, and I'm so glad I did. They're a gorgeous coral colour, and are surprisingly versatile. I finished off the look with my circle sunnies, and sandals. When it's warm outside I tend to avoid jewellery, and keep my outfit very simple!

What to you guys love wearing for Summer?

City Break Away:What to Pack

Hey Lovelies,
As y'all know I was away for just under a week in London. Had a blast yadayada.. but I found it quite hard to pack for a city break, so I decided to put together what I'd pack on a future break! For packing for a city break, you want the option of a few outfits, but with limited space. I've become a master of packing, and could easily fit these into hand luggage. Wearing the bulky outfit to and from the Airport is key to make this work :) For a few days away you want to bring versatile pieces that you can mix and match. As you can tell I'm not exactly a light packer, but with 12 pieces of clothing you can do a lot! All can be folded up rather small so you can still bring your carry on!
Week away!
A pair of black tights, denim jeans, a pair of denim shorts and black disco pants can take you anywhere. I'd bring disco pants rather than leggings, as they're as comfortable but can be dressed up. Pair the disco pants with the kaftan, and a statement necklace with black sandals and you've a nice night time look. Or you can wear it with a T-shirt and a leather jacket for a more casual look. You could also dress the kaftan down with denim shorts, and gold sandals. Basic tank tops are great as you can layer them, wear them on their own or underneath a Kimono, leather jacket and even a hoodie, if you're travelling and you want to be comfy! Once you pack a few basics you've quite a few looks you can achieve! I also always pack a few dresses, they're easy for a weekend away, as you're pretty much dressed once you throw one one. For a city break I'd pack two dresses. One dressy one, and one more casual dress. A Floral dress can take you from day to night. You pair it with converse during the day, for a cute girly look, and Sandals and a nice clutch for the night, for a dressier look. The casual dress is perfect for travelling or sightseeing/shopping It's cotton, so it's breathable and looks so cute with Converse. Pair it with a beanie, and leather jacket if it gets cold! Whack on a pair of aviators and you'll set to go.

These 12 pieces can be really mixed and matched, and the accessories which are mainly lightweight can instantly transform your outfit.  When I travel I don't want to waste time on bringing a million and one things, that don't go with one another (been there done that!) When you're packing for a city break it can be quite daunting thinking of what to wear on each day, with the limitations of carry on luggage. I always seem to pack too many handbags, but yet only really stick to one that's easy to carry, and isn't too heavy. So the Zara "Office bag", and a neutral envelope clutch would be all you'd need. Jewellery can also transform a look, so if you pack a few statement pieces you're covered for everything. Even wearing a basic black tank, skinny jeans and a leather jacket with a statement necklace would work for an impromptu night out! No matter where I go I always packed a little scarf, as I always seem to get cold, so packing in on a neutral colour so you won't worry about getting chilly and clashing with your outfit (Am I the only one that worries about this?)

Overall when you're on a city break, you'll be sightseeing, shopping and dining out to your hearts content so you want to have everything covered. The best piece of advice I can give is to pack a few basic pieces with a few colourful items to make the most out of your baggage space!

Are you guys good packers?

Aztec Jeans

Hey Lovelies,
On the second day in London, I kept it casual when I saw the lovely Hanna, and wore my new jeans from Forever 21. They're a gorgeous colourful Aztec print, and can be paired with so much! They have a nice stretch to them too, which makes all the different if you're running around town. Now I've always had a problem with jeans falling down as I've no bum. Yep, absolutely no bum, but these jeans don't budge! They're nice and comfortable too and don't leave any muffin top, which is always a plus!
Jeans:Forever21+, Top:H&M,Necklace:Accessorize, Sandals&Bag:Primark

I paired it with a fringe baggy top and a colourful necklace to tie in the colours of the jeans. It was a really relaxed look that I not only felt comfortable in, but confident too. I came a little unprepared to London, and forgot sandals, and as the weather was nice and warm I nipped into Primark, and picked up this pair for £3! I went a few years without wearing jeans, but I'm back in full force after these gorgeous ones! Forever 21 plus size range, has so many Jeans in cool and quirky patterns as well as your run of the mill pairs. They're definitely worth checking out!

The Perfect Red?

Hey Beauties,
My hunt for the perfect red lip is never ending. I'm such a huge fan of statement lipsticks and love how they can transform your look in two seconds. Red would definitely be my favourite colour to go to. Now I do already  have my favourite MAC and Chanel ones, but I'm always on the lookout for new brands and different red hues. Last month I was introduced to "Diego Dalla Palma" or the "MAC of Italy" I have a few products from this brand to test out, but I'll start off with the lippy, as it's what I've been using the most probably! Intrigued by the fresh packaging, and the vibrant red colour, I was more than happy to give it a go.
It's a deep red, that's very sophisticated and I feel like a right classy lady when I wear it! It's become my favourite red lipstick, dare I say ever? It's not only moisturising, but long lasting too. I'm a no fuss, no muss kinda gal, so if I have to touch up my lipstick a million times a day, I loose interest. Not only does it last long, it's not half a drying as other lipsticks I've used. It contains Vitamin E and Raspberry seed oil which not only smells nice but is moisturising too, and doesn't leave my lips dry and chapped. Although I do condition my lips on a regular basis to keep them in tip top shape, as dry and cracked lips are the bane of my life!t's a very dark red, so it's not to everyone's taste or style but if you're like me and love a good statement lip, this one's for you! The "Diego Dalla Palma" range is available from Debenhams stores, and online.

Almost Famous

Hey lovelies!
I'm back! After a much needed break from reality, I feel like so much fresher and normal again. I was so run down, I didn't even realise it, and London was just what I needed to chill and catch up with some lovely girls, and have some down time. I've a few outfits to show you guys! The  first day, I wanted to keep it casual, and chill and be really comfy. I'd bought this Asos Curve Tee ages ago, and love it. I bought it a few sizes big so it's nice a baggy (typical eh?!)  I wore it with simply black leggings, and my bowler hat and complimented it with neon accessories! It's so simple, and easy to throw on. I love neon accessories and love how it's a nod to the trend without wearing it head to toe. It's definitely my go to outfit at the moment, and I love how chill it is!
I wore it to see the London Dungeons with my lovely friend Isha! :) (#1 Tourist attraction in London if you ask me!) and then to see "The Woman in Black" which was fantastic! Definitely the scariest show I've ever seen. It was a very scary day, and I of course was in my element. If y'all haven't guessed I'm a bit of a horror geek, and anything scary I have to see. I also wore it to see the lovely Callie for lunch, and to have a quick catch up while she was on her lunch break. She works literally 5 minutes away from my Hotel so it was so handy! It was so nice to catch up with her, she's always so bubbly and full of life :)

Hello Maxi!

Hey Girls,
With any glimpse of sun I'm in my maxi dress. I love the wearing maxi dresses, they're perfect for this lovely weather we've been having lately. They're effortless and so glam. I bought this one last year, and I love it. It's such a gorgeous lilac colour, and instantly puts me in the mood for a BBQ! I paired it with a neon green blazer for a bit of colour clashing. I love colour clashing, it's still bang on trend, and lets face it's a nice change from pairing everything with black, something I've been guilty of in the past!
Dress:Forever21 Headband and Blazer:Penney's/Primark

I added a floral hairband to tie in the neon green, and to give the dress a more hippy vibe. Tuesday was also the first day my sandals came out! I was so happy to finally paint my tootsies and put on a pair of gladiator sandals! It's definitely one of the best feelings ever!

Did you guys have a nice weekend? :)

Monif C Swimwwear 2013

Hey Lovelies!
It must be Summer if I'm writing a swimwear post! I've been thinking of which bikini I'll get this year, and with me missing out on the Galaxy print from Gabi Gregg's collection, I've to open up my options! I'll be going through a few websites that cater for plus size girls over the coming weeks, and I thought I'd get the ball rolling with one of my favourites..
With the fantastic weather both the UK and Ireland are having lately, Summer is finally on every's mind.Meaning it's finally time to get prepared for your summer holiday! For Plus size gals the sheer thought of swimwear  can sends cold shivers down their spines. I was one of those girls until last year when I saw the most gorgeous Bikini from Monif C. Monif C is an American Designer and has become renowned for her absolutely gorgeous swimwear. Not only is it flattering but it comes in an array of funky colours and cuts, so you're bound to find one you love! What I love most about them is that they're designed by a plus size women, with plus size women in mind. The cuts of her swimsuits are extremely flattering for the fuller figure and don't just come in your standard black.
Now they're not cheap, but I invested in one last year, and can't recommend them enough. I felt confident on the beach and secure! There's nothing worse when you feel like your going to pop out of your bikini top, it's happened far too many times! The bikini's are high waisted, pull you in, in the right places and give you a lovely hourglass shape, while the halter neck top offers support for the fuller bust. If a bikini isn't something you feel comfortable in, they have STUNNING swimsuits. I'm already thinking of which one I'm going to buy this year. From cut out swimsuits to cute swim-dresses, they have something that will suit all shapes and age groups. Monif C also do stunning dresses, both casual and dressy, so it's well worth a look, if you want great quality designer plus size clothing.
Whenever I go shopping for swimwear even now, I still get a little bit daunted. What makes me feel a bit better, is that it's just not  plus size women who feel this way. ALL women freak out with the sheer thought of stripping off on the beach! Before I go away I always get a good spray tan. It makes me feel more confident, and gets me excited to wear my new swimwear. I also get waxed, have a manicure and a pedicure so I'm relaxed in the knowledge that I'm pampered and ready to hit the beach!

What do you gals think of Monif C?

Hello Flawless Foundation and Powder Review

Hey Beauties!
I'm continuing on with my search for my perfect foundation. I'm a huge fan of benefit, and have been dying to try "Hello Flawless" for yonks. I've read a few mixed reviews, so I was a bit apprehensive, especially in terms of the coverage. I want a medium/heavy coverage as I don't want my pesky spots coming through my foundation. I've tried and tested what seems like a gazillion foundation at this stage. I've found some I like, some I hate, but nothing that's 100% right. I was definitely welcoming this one in with open arms! As well as the liquid foundation, I tired the powder as well. I must admit, I'm awful for not using powder, as I've dry skin I had gotten it into my head that is will be cakey, and sit in my dry patches! I decided to test it out over last weekend, and report back to you lovely ladies!
Packaging like all Benefit products, are cute and quirky. I love both of these packagings, for different reasons. The Powder is secure, and doesn't feel like the powder itself will pop out and smash over the floor. It also flips up to reveal a cute little brush and sponge! The Foundation has a neat and clean look to it, as well  as it being a clear tube. I love clear tubes, as I can see how much I've used, so I know when to restock. There's nothing worse than running out of foundation when you least expect it! As important packaging is, I was eager to see how well these two products worked for me.
"Hello Flawless Powder"*€35
I loved this powder. It's light, blends like a dream, and doesn't settle into my dry patches. I was matched with Honey, as I pretty much always have some tan on me, and especially coming into Summer I wanted a slightly darker colour for this fabulous tan I'll get from all this fabulous rain ;) I was surprised with how much I like the powder, as I've mentioned before I don't like powder, and It wouldn't be part of my everyday makeup routine,I know SHOCK HORROR! Lasting power, honestly I'd prefer if it lasted a little longer, but it made my skin feel lovely, so I can deal with topping it up once or twice a day!
"Hello Flawless Oxegen Wow"*€35
Finally getting my grubby mitts on this foundation! I was paired with "Beige" I decided this was the best option for me for the Summer as well. Normally I'd be no where near this colour, but it matches perfectly to my (Cocoa Brown) tan. It blends in effortlessly, doesn't settle into any of my dry patches and gives me great coverage even though it claims to be a "light to medium coverage" You definitely know there is a hydrating element, and the "Oxegen Wow" complex boots cellular respiration and prevents the signs of ageing (Yes Please" Over all it's a great foundation, but like the powder I wish it had a better staying power. However, this wouldn't stop me from repurchasing it, as I do like the texture and the finish!

Have you guys tired anything from the "Hello Flawless" range?

What I Wore

Jeggings*:SimplyBe, Top:HouseofFraser,Scarf/Pumps:Penney's,Hat:Topshop,Necklace:Fran&Jane

Hey Lovelies,
Last Friday, I went to the Benefit Event. As I mentioned in the previous post, it was a fantastic evening and I had a blast. The new "Stay Flawless" primer is getting rave review all over the blogosphere. I was rushing late from work, and had a killer migraine so I wanted something easy to throw on. These Jeggings, are really comfortable, and so cute! They're my favourite pair of Jeggings ever. I went for the short length, as I wanted them to be ankle grazers as I hate the bunched up look you get with Jeans/Jeggings.  Accessories wise, I went for a scull scarf, and my favourite Fran&Jane necklace. It's the perfect combination when you don't want to be too "matchy matchy" To finish off the look I went for my much loved Bowler hat. At €40 it was more than I wanted to pay, but I've worn it over and over and over again, so it was definitely worth the price.

Sorry lads ,it's a short but sweet post from me today! I'm off to pack for my trip to London! I'm so excited to get away for a week. It seems like forever since I've given myself a chance to recharge my batteries! I've some scheduled posts set for the coming week, so y'all won't miss me too much :)

They also made a big announcement of Benefit's first stand alone store in Dublin's City Centre on South William Street! As well as their regional offices! It will be a one stop shop, for hair, makeup, nails and tan! I for one can't wait for this exciting new Benefit venture! As always we were looked after fantastically by the Benebabes, and the Beneboy Mark! It was definitely a lovely start to my weekend!
